Beethoven's Piano Sonata No. 14 in C Sharp Minor is my favorite piece of music of all time, it brings me to tears every time I hear it. Sad joy flows from my eyes reflecting the music's sublime reassurance of the nobler aspects of humankind. It is without peer. Still, I know that this arching, beautiful melody was indeed NOT written by a human but is in fact, the voice of God coming thru Beethoven as a human receiver. I am convinced of its divinity. There is such longing, such beauty, such empathy, emotion in each caressing movement, it's depth, so delicate and yet so devastatingly powerful, envelopes me with each phrase, killing me inside note by delicious, poisonous note. One of my life's wishes is to learn how to play this effortlessly from memory on the piano someday.
